On my new heritage classic I added a leather tank panel with a pouch and had to remove the seat. I also added a tool pouch on the windshield and a few other goodies, but I know I need some essential tools for both around the casa and on the road. Question is 'what to get'. I notice a lot of Torque (star) screws up to size 45 or 50. That's a no-brainer.. but to get some tools for later-on use I'm not sure whether I need metric or standard or what the essential tools might be.
Was hoping someone with some wrench turning experience could suggest which way to go here...
Any help appreciated...

You can buy from the dealership what is called "Cruz Tools", a roll-up kit made for the Softtails. This great kit comes with pretty much everything that you need in the way of tools. I carry it all the time, plus on long trips I usually add some additional tools that I may need, like a larger adjustable wrench, and a socket wrench to remove my saddlebags if I ever need to get to the rear tire.
H-D also sells their own brand, but I think the Cruz Tools kit is better. You can also get them on-line at Cruztools.com.
Tools for the garage...I bought a torque star set from Sears that works great, a set of standard/metric allen keys, and a generic standard/metric socket set works pretty well for the garage. Of course, if you've a big enough garage, then an air compressor works great, a bike jack that gets your bike off the ground is totally awesome...this is great for cleaning wheels and underneath.
I also found that designating a storage space for extra oil, polish, cleaner, and good rags is nice. Also a box or something that you can store additional riding gear that you will ultimately collect as you go is great. I've got my riding chaps, about five pairs of different types of gloves, several pairs of glasses, a couple of head wraps, a scarf and a face cover, plus two extra helmets.
If you've got removeable stuff like a back seat, windshield, luggage rack, etc. then you'll also need a safe place for those when they're not on the bike.
I'm sure others have their ideas also but this is a start... Very Happy

Also carry a set of tools in my bags and have been thinking of getting something to fix tire flats in case I am on the road far away from anything.
Any suggestions on that?

If you have laced wheels, they cannot (practically) be fixed on the road.
With cast or solids, a tire repair kit (plugs) available at any automotive source and a can of spare tire (or air up kit) works just fine. I keep them in my saddle bags, and they have saved me once.

GameStreet's guild hosting plans signaling with the take organization with up to 50mb of record hardware and no aggregation restrictions. The EVE ISK payment design increases that decrease to 500mb and includes a subdomain such as "myguild.gamestree.net". Usage domains are lendable as an elevate as advantageously as additional line store up to a count of 3gb.
